SOCIO SPATIAL IDEAS

Ideas OF sound, light, and texture were all constraints given to this project that were able to be turned into assets that strengthened the overall design. Learning how a project can be shaped due to preexisting conditions gave new insight into design and further enhanced abilities and understanding. learned how sound could be manipulated by using different types of surfaces to either reflect or scatter sound waves WAS DEMONSTRATED IN THIS PROJECT. Materiality was also considered in order to further enhance these ideas. Properly placing either absorbent or reflective materials throughout the design enabled sound to be controlled and enjoyed by users of the space. Controlling light throughout the space was crucial in order to protect users from it, but also to strategically illuminate the building. KNOWLEDGE OF properly studying sun patterns WAS GAINED, and in doing so, many design decisions WERE SHAPED AROUND IT.
